Another compiling problem

Beitrag von hantatta »

Hi all,

During compiling some errors came up (see below). I think that this may be a problem caused by Automake (version 1.95) because of its earlier warnings, but I'm not for sure. Does someone recognize this error?

./configure: line 6376: syntax error near unexpected token `MSGFMT,'
./configure: line 6376: `AM_PATH_PROG_WITH_TEST(MSGFMT, msgfmt,'
make: *** [/home/dbox/tuxbox-cvs/apps/tuxbox/enigma/config.status] Error 2
[dbox@localhost cdk]$

I use toolchecker which gives the following output:

cvs: 1.11.17
autoconf >= 2.57a: 2.58
automake >= 1.7: 1.9.5
libtool >= 1.4.2: 1.4.2
gettext >= 0.12.1: 0.14.1
make >= 3.79: 3.80
makeinfo: 4.7
tar: 1.14
bunzip2: 1.0.2
gunzip 1.2.4 (18 Aug 93)
patch: 2.5.9
infocmp: 5.4.20040529
gcc 2.95 or >= 3.0: 3.4.3
g++ 2.95 or >= 3.0: 3.4.3
flex: version
bison: 1.875
pkg-config: 0.15.0
wget: 1.9.1

Thanks.

The gettext m4-macros seem to be missing.

Maybe your vendor offers a separate devel-package for gettext?

It was a gettext problem indeed. I installed gettext without g++ two weeks ago, so it wasn't installed properly. The linux machine is now compiling at the moment so I'm waiting what comes out. I will let you know. Thanks for your help anyway.
