Satfind doesn't work

Beitrag von JOCKYW2001 »

Just tested a YADD from latest CVS:
1. can't start Satfind
2. channelscan on Astra only finds 63 transponders? shouldn't that be 74?

Rest works fine (as usual). Tested on a Philips and a Sagem.

Would be grateful for any clues.

hi,

1) satfind is a plugin/tool - i do not know if it is generally installed with an entry in neutrino pluginmenu - if not telnet your box and satfind<enter>

2) this is correct. even if ses-astra provides more than 63 transponders a scan normally is done as follows
a) tune of of the NIT reference transponder
b) parse the NIT for
b.1) check all NIT transponder data against the saved data and eventually add missing ones.
b.2) check for additional NIT transponders and restart at b.1

c) start a loop
tune to transponder
if successfull filter SDT table (and if wanted BAT ect)
parse all SDT table information (means adding of services)
if a tune hasn't been successfull or the SDT times out erase transponder
loop end

even if Astra 19,2E provides > 63 transponders the told algorithms and facts can result in less transponder. (the other ones are reserved for e.g. failure purposes or just not sending anymore)

hope this answers your questions.

Found it, just add following line in /lib/tuxbox/plugins/satfind.cfg:
depend=libfx2.so

Thx for your channelscan explanation. Useful knowhow although it doesn't immediately solve my scan problem
