Phillips startet nicht
Habe meine Phillips in den Debug gebracht. Dann das aktuelle Alex W (1.6.3) mit der der neuesten cdk.cramfs (10.10) aufgespielt.
Jetzt startet die Box (bis starting Kernel...) und stürzt dann ab bzw. beginnt wieder mit Startroutine. Habe auch schon andere Images versucht, immer wieder das gleiche.
Was habe ich falsch gemacht?

Hallo 
Bei Phillips kann ich leider nicht mitreden weil ich eine Nokia habe. Allerdings haben die neuen Images ab dem 3. 10 . noch ein paar Kinderkrankheiten die sich mehr oder minder schwer auf die einzelnen Boxentypen auswirken. Ich kann dir aber das Baseimage 1.6.0 und den Snapshot vom 6.9. wärmstens empfehlen. Ein Log wäre übrigens auch interessant, um zu sehen ab wann dir die Box abschmiert.

Hab hier eine Philips zum Umbauen, die sich genauso verhält.
Probier mal folgendes: Brech den PPCBOOT ab und lass "mtest" laufen. Macht die Box dann auch wieder nen WATCHDOG RESET?
Kann man den Hardware-Wachhund eigentlich deaktivieren?

Fred hat mir eine PN geschickt, aber ich möchte das gerne in der Öffentlichkeit weiterdiskutieren.
Anscheinend gibt es Philips-Boxen, die mit dem aktuellen Kernel nicht klarkommen.
Also:
Häng die Box an den PC, Bootmanager starten und nur Com-Terminal aktivieren. Box starten und wie unten angegeben vorgehen:

Watchdog ist eine eingebaute Hardware-Überwachung, welche die Box neu startet, wenn sich die Software aufhängt.Danke für den Tipp, aber das übersteigt mein kleines Basiswissen. Kannst Du mir das genauer erklären...?
Was ist watchdog reset? Wo ist mtest?

Du brauchst:
- Bootmanager
- Original-Image (haste ja)
- gepatchtes "os" (kann aus dem Image mit dem Bootmanager gewonnen werden)
Ablauf:
- Bootmanager starten und nur "COM-Port" auf 9600 Baud aktivieren
- Box einschalten und die Pfeil-hoch Taste dabei drücken
- In der 4. Zeile des Logs steht die "dsID" - aufschreiben
- Mit http://dbox2.elxsi.de/dsID.php die Datei ".did" daraus erzeugen und im Verzeichnis vom Bootmanager speichern.
- Original-Image mit dem Bootmanager flashen
- Im Bootmanager die gepatchte "os" (sollte "os_gepatcht" heissen
) als Bootfile angeben. NFS-Root = Bootmanager-Verzeichnis.
- Im RSH das Script "copy_did.txt" ausführen
Jetzt sollte die Box mit BN wieder hochfahren.
