ich habe seit letztem Wochenende ein IDE-Interface von Hallenberg in meiner Nokia DBox2 (AVIA 500). Daran betreibe ich eine neue Western Digital 3,5"-Festplatte vom Typ "WD5000AVJB" mit 500GB [1], die explizit für den Einsatz in Harddisk-Recordern gebaut wurde und sich unter anderem durch ihre niedrige Betriebstemperatur auszeichenen soll. Die Festplatte wird zwar problemlos erkannt und Aufnahmen funktionieren prinzipiell auch, allerdings wird die Platte binnen kurzer Zeit sehr heiß (über 60 Grad) und die Aufnahme bricht dann mit dem Kommentar ab, dass die Daten nicht schnell genug geschrieben werden konnten. Auch in Ruhe bei freistehender Box und geöffnetem Deckel erreicht die Platte im StandBy schnell 50 Grad.
Abgesehen davon lässt sich bei der Festplatte auch der DMA-Modus nicht aktivieren. In einem anderen Forum (ich finde das Posting leider nicht wieder) habe ich davon gelesen, dass oben genannte Probleme damit in Verbindung stehen könne. Ich bin allerdings etwas ratlos, warum sich der DMA-Modus nicht aktivieren lässt. Es wird in der "hdparm -i"-Ausgabe auch gar kein mdma-Modus gelistet. Die neue Platte sollte den ja eigentlich schon unterstützen, oder?
Ich verwende den derzeit aktuellen JtG-Snapshot vom 18.08.2008.
Ich bin für jeden Hinweis zur Lösung des Hitzeproblems und bezüglich der DMA-Aktivierung sehr dankbar.
