It won't start!

Beitrag von tonalt »

I have dbox2 Nokia with Neutrino 1.8.1. I flashed new image with this method: http://www.yadi.org/anleitungen/install ... no_install

Image is http://www.yadi.org/disclaimer.php?file ... ead_2x.img

It flashed ok, then it said something like "press ok for reboot". I pressed ok, and then it shutted down. Then I turned it on. It loads boot-logo and then it says on LCD-screen "loading kernel". Now it just hangs and won't start!

Is there anything to be done or is it dead??

to get a boot log (serial log) from the dbox2, do the following:

- connect dbox2 to PC using a serial crossed cable (NULL-Modem)

- use dbox2bootmanager to review the bootlog (use cut&paste to post it here).

For flashing the dbox2 you should use the dbox2bootmanager.

I've read it allready at an other topic.....with the bootmanager!
The problem with the connection between PC and d-box is still active.
-connect them via ethernet with the old ip -> error: Pinging Dbox...failed!
-flash it with bootmanager -> error: access denied!

"access denied!" - the image is likely read-only (i.E. copied from a CD), the Bootmanager needs to open it read/write.

read/write

What's the way to change the properties....like read only or write?
-> That it would be possible to flash it!

Many thanks

Standard Windows file properties...

del-select read_only or select write permissions (depends on your Win-OS)

I've checked de image-file, i've downloaded from the internet....but there is everthing ok!
I think the message "Acceess denied" (from the bootmanager) correlates to the d-box - the permission to change something on it - like flashing!
