3 questions

Beitrag von JOCKYW2001 »

1: My JFFS2only image (HEAD of 10 Sept) works fine on my Philips, except I can't get the dbox in deep standby. It shows the standby logos on frontpanel and TV forever. I did switch on the standby option in the settings. Any ideas?

2. Despite that it is a perfect working Jffs2only image, the bootlog halfway shows "cramfs: bad magic" and booting continues. Why is that?

3. I wonder what are the benefits of an AlexW image compared to a selfmade cramfsjffs2.img ?

Thanks for your time!

What happens when you hold down the power key for about 2 seconds? Normally this should shutdown the box!

The same (LCD panel shows standby logo and TV the neutrino logo forever) :(
Btw: Then I can still telnet to the box and reboot it

O, I just discover that I can shutdown the box by issuing a halt command from telnet. So it seems something is not shut down using the shutdown buttons.

The same happens in my jffs2only-image. In /etc/init.d/start_neutrino the halt - command is missing at the end.
You must put it at the end after:

sleep 3
done

Code: Alles auswählen

echo "shutdown....................."
/sbin/halt
exit 0

JockyW
that is normal

cause you are mounting whithout telling linux kernel wicht filsystem is there

so it try es every filsystem , and cramfs stands bevore jffs2

than it sees it es no cramfs , and is going on trying ...

the answer to question 3 will result in a flamewar, so we better ignore it. i already walked through to all of it.
btw: nice to see you back "home"!

to answer your question anyway: there are no such benefits to use alexW. it es just for the doodes around us who can et compile alone by themself. IMHO you should ignore this guy - he is adding / removing features by his goodwill. but this is my humble opinion only - even if plenty others think likewise to me

Ah, I see :)

Well, nobody wants another flame war. So let's close this thread then.
